Welcome to Freedom2Dance Studio

Freedom2Dance Studio was established in 2012. Principals Sarah Cassar and Tracey Saliba, together with a team of passionate and experienced dance teachers, offer a variety of dance styles including, Jazz, Tap, Classical Ballet, Contemporary and Hip Hop. We provide opportunities for all students to showcase their talents through performances and C.S.T.D examinations. We aim to deliver the knowledge and skills to execute the correct technique in every dance style available, no matter the age or ability. Our purpose is to teach students the art of dance in ways in which they can express themselves and build confidence.

Whats on Offer
Jazz

Incorporates a number of styles that are used to express through dance. This type of dance encourages students to build flexibility, strength and co-ordination. Jazz classes are available for all ages starting from 3 to adult. Examinations are also available and encouraged by our trained teachers.

Ballet & Pointe

Ballet technique is applied to build strength, correct posture, balance and discipline. Ballet classes are available for all ages starting from 3 to adult. Examinations are also available and encouraged by our trained teachers. Pointe is the advanced level of Ballet that incorporates technique, balance and classical stance and offered once the student is capable to fulfil the requirements.

Tap

A high level of rhythm and energy to effectively execute the tapping sounds and bodily movements. Tap classes are available for all ages starting from 3 to adult. Examinations are also available and encouraged by our trained teachers.

Contemporary

A modern take on Ballet that uses a combination of Jazz and Ballet technique. This style of dance uses different movements to express a particular story or emotion. It requires balance, strength and flexibility. It is offered to students from ages 12 to adult.

Hip Hop

Hip Hop is a popular modern style of dance which encourages students to use a variety of sharp and loose bodily movements. It enables students to dance in a non-restrictive manner and allows own interpretation. It is offered to students from ages 4 to adult.

Barre Fitness

This class is open to all fitness levels, it's a great way to get fit and challenge yourself with a variety of barre and mat exercises. Each class features core, toning and cardio exercises. Join in, bring a friend and make this your weekly workout.

Sarah & Tracey

Sarah Cassar, Co-Principal and Founder of Freedom2Dance Studio has been within the dancing scene for over 16 years. Sarah has been dancing and performing in the styles of Jazz, Tap, Classical Ballet, Contemporary and Hip Hop while teaching in these styles for the past 8 years. Sarah has completed numerous C.S.T.D. Examinations and now enjoys choreographing, teaching and passing on the love of dance to students of all ages.

Tracey Saliba, Co-Principal of Freedom2Dance Studio began her Theatrical dance training at the age of 8. Dancing for over 16 years in styles of Jazz, Tap, Classical Ballet, Contemporary and Hip Hop, she has since exceeded in C.S.T.D. Examinations. She also has a background within the music industry specifically singing and piano. Tracey enjoys performing and entertaining a crowd. Her passion for teaching has enabled Tracey to fulfil her role as a Principal of Freedom2Dance Studio.

Jade

Jade has been dancing in the Hip Hop industry for 15 years. Her passion for dance grew into teaching and sharing her love of dance with others. Jade has competed in several competitions within Victoria, nationally and internationally such as Battleground, Step Off and more. Alongside her dance journey, she has travelled to Queensland and Sydney to compete, placing in top 3. Jade has been on board with the F2D family for 3 years and cannot wait to create a fun, fresh and enthusiastic dance space for her students throughout the year and the years to come!

Harleigh-Rose

Harleigh-Rose began her dance journey at the age of 5. As her passion for dance continued to grow she started performing in solo and troupe competitions at local Eisteddfods. Harleigh-Rose has attained a Cert IV in Dance and is a qualified Personal Trainer and Fitness instructor. She has also completed Jazz, Tap and Ballet ATOD examinations. She will be completing a Cert IV in dance at Kelly Aykers Full Time Dance 2019. Harleigh-Rose has performed for companies including Show-Time Attraction’s, Dance-City Productions and Royal Casino events. Recently she became a dancer/cheerleader for the Australian Baseball League 2018-2019.

Rebekah

Rebekah joins us from the Victoria State Ballet, where she is the resident female principal dancer. Having danced for almost ten years professionally, she has danced with West Australian Ballet, Ballet West (USA), Melbourne Ballet Company and Melbourne Dance Theatre. Rebekah’s career highlights include, dancing Kitri from ‘Don Quixote’, Odette/Odile from ‘Swan Lake’, Medora from ‘Le Corsaire’ and the Russian girl from Balanchine’s ‘Serenade’. Rebekah’s teaching passion lies in Classical Ballet, Conditioning and Pointe work.

Danielle

Danielle has been dancing from the age of 5. She has been teaching Acro for 6 years at multiple dance schools. Danielle has been trained in the styles of Acro, Jazz, Tap, Ballet/Pointe and Contemporary. She has competed in numerous dance competitions for 7 years and completed RAD examinations. Danielle aims to provide students with the skills and confidence to condition and strengthen their Acro tricks. She also strives to provide knowledge to create an understanding of how Acro can be incorporated into other dance styles.

Taylor

Taylor has been dancing and singing for over 20 years. Participating in dance competitions and concerts since the age of 2, then progressing into professional work and teaching. She has completed CSTD examinations in Jazz and Musical Theatre, as well as RAD Ballet examinations. In 2006, Taylor performed in the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games and has also appeared in musicals held at the Arts Centre, Melbourne. Taylor recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and Education at Deakin University. Her aim is to create a comfortable, exciting and innovative environment for her students to enjoy dance and singing just as she did.
